Hamilton Southeastern takes on the Brownsburg Bulldogs next week in an important head-to-head matchup Friday night. Hamilton Southeastern is going into this game with a record of 11-10 on the season and Brownsburg at 7-10 (as of 2/14/24).
Previous to their matchup, we conducted an Interview with Head Coach John Ashworth on his and the team’s mindset going into next week’s game. When asked about how Coach/the team feeling about going into the Brownsburg game next week, Ashworth responded, “We feel like we are improving each week and will be ready to go on the road to face Brownsburg. They are a good team and well coached, so we will have to be prepared for a tough game.”
As for the mindset going into next week, Coach shared, “Going on the road in our conference is a challenge, so we must spend the week practicing our game plan and preparing to execute on Friday night.”
The Brownsburg Boys Basketball has been notorious for their excellent and unique playstyle.
When asked about how Hamilton southeastern is expected to counter the challenge they bring, Ashworth responded by saying; “We must be ready for a tough and physical game. Brownsburg will play hard and usually puts forth a good defensive game plan. We must be ready to match their intensity and have our players be mentally tough.”
As both teams are generally evenly matched, they should put up a good fight against one another and are expected to be battling until the final minutes. Hamilton Southeastern is 1-5 in conference games this season and this will be their last one of the regular season. When asked about how the team will go into this game knowing it is the last regular season away game of the season, Coach Ashworth stated, “We will enjoy it. This is a great group of kids that enjoy being together and around each other. We have played well on the road this year and we hope to continue building momentum going into Sectionals.”
Brownsburg goes into this game with a 2-3 conference record. Over the past 5 years, Hamilton southeastern has a 2-3 record against the Brownsburg Bulldogs, in the games that Hamilton Southeastern has won, the final score has been no more than a 6 pt deficit each game. It should be a shootout when they meet.
