Since her freshman year, sophomore Macey Spreitzer has been a dedicated team manager for the HSE varsity girls basketball team. While she may not be on the court, Spreitzer plays an essential role that goes beyond filling waters and organizing equipment, she is the backbone of the team’s support system.
“I love the bus rides” said Spreitzer. “My friendship with the girls has grown so much this season.”
Spreitzer has become a beloved and essential part of the team over the past two years. Because of her dedication and positive energy, her bond with the players and coaches is undeniable.
“She is the most positive person i’ve ever met” exclaimed senior Maine Hooks. “She’s always smiling and giggling. When we are down, she can always bring a smile to the team.”
That ability to lift spirits has made Spreitzer’s contributions go father than just statistics on the sideline. Her presence in the locker room and in the bench creates a sense of unity. By sharing their joy following victory or comforting them in their defeats, Spreitzer never fails to make everyone feel valued and supported. Whether it’s through a pep talk before a big game or high fives on the bench, she ensures no teammate ever feels alone.
Beyond he role as a manager, Spreitzer is an athlete herself. Throughout the year, she competes in unified flag football, unified basketball, and unified track and field. Her passion for these sports highlight her love for athletics and teamwork.
Following this basketball season, Spreitzer acts as a reminder that sports are about more than wins and losses, they’re about the people who make the game special.
