Doing the little things during a game was always the most important part to senior, Addison Van Hoesen. Despite never being the leading scorer on the team Van Hoesen supported in every way she could. But ask anyone on the team and they’d tell you—she was the reason they played as one.
“I may not be out there scoring all the points or getting all the assists,” Van Hoesen said. “But I do a lot off the court, like supporting my teammates and keeping the energy high—doing all the little things to help everyone”
Van Hoesen was always everywhere on the court. She was always setting up her teammates for success. She was going up for every rebound she could or was always in the right place at the right time. A constant hustle from her is what made her valued by all her teammates.
Junior teammate Ava Kashani states, “She’s like a big sister to our team,” junior teammate Ava Kashani states. “She is constantly directing us on what to do and how to refocus during the game.”
She was such a key player to this team’s success in their state run. Even with their loss in the semi-state game her positive attitude and effort to redirect the team was so important to her teammates.
“She’s [does] all the little things,” assistant coach Chris Huppenthal said. “In order for everyone else to do the big things.”
Their season came to an end this Saturday after a tough loss in semi-state the team is in despair but not without all hope.
“This group is really special because of how we’ve come together as a team” Van Hoesen said.
