As the Spring season begins to heat up, HSE boys lacrosse stays resilient. With their most recent victory against Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School on March 29th, the HSE boys team continues its undefeated run, proving themselves as a top contender for the 2025 season.
But with Spring Break around the corner interrupting the season, the team faces a crucial test in their ability to remain diligent. Although the official games may be paused, the work doesn’t end. “It would mean everything” states #8 Max Kemp, when asked what it would mean to win state this year. Max has faith in his team’s ability to play and stay resilient, stating “I don’t think we let it (pressure) get to us. We know we can play at a high level.”
From the opening game against Brébeuf Prep, HSE has consistently shown that they are a force to be reckoned with. Their team chemistry and discipline have rewarded the team on the field, allowing them to control the pace in every meet. Standout performances from players like junior David Gould on attack and senior Dillon O’Rourke on defense have been instrumental in securing key victories during matchups.
Coach Beesley emphasized the team’s work ethic and chemistry he said. Dillon O’Rourke added, “We plan to go undefeated this season, even if it requires working twice as hard.”
Although the team will take a short break from competition during Spring Break, they have a challenging schedule ahead. The HSE boys lacrosse will return to the field with a meet against Cathedral High School on April 16th, followed closely with more meets at Noblesville and Brownsburg. The week following break will be a major test, and the coaching staff has urged players to stay active and mentally prepared during the time off.
With the second half of the season already on the horizon, the HSE Boys Lacrosse team remains focused on their ultimate goal: a state championship title. They’re looking to return from break with the same intensity and determination that has defined their season so far.
