Softball Media Day on March 20, 2025.
Senior Chloe Smith isn’t just finishing her high school softball career, she is closing a chapter filled with growth, leadership, and forever memories that will be cherished. Smith will be attending Indiana University and plans to major in marketing. She has had many special moments while being on the team. One which was playing in the state game and having her whole family watch her in that setting. Smith is a dominant left fielder who doesn’t let anything stop her.
“I have been playing softball for 10 years,” Smith said, reflecting on how the sport shaped her. “Playing softball in high school has shaped me into a determined person. Because of it I don’t give up easily and challenge myself every day.”
“My favorite memory was looking at the stands at state and seeing all the people supporting us,” Smith said. “I have a great bond with my teammates, they all understand me, and we can joke but also be serious together.”
So far this season, Smith has had 15 hits through 48 at-bats. Her hitting average is .312. She also has had 5 RBI’s so far this season. Not only do her teammates see her determination, but also head coach, Emily Pusti.
Smith’s close friend and senior teammate, Leah Paris, has helped her get through high school ball.
“These past few years with Chloe as my teammate and friend has been so special,” Paris said. “She makes softball so much more enjoyable, and I truly would not be the person or player I am without her.”
“I cannot thank Chloe enough for her willingness to always be open to advice and support,” Pusti said. “She has allowed us to foster her passion for the sport through coaching and mentorship.”
