For Kameron Anthony, football is more than just a sport — it’s part of who he is. As a former standout at Hamilton Southeastern High School, Anthony saw early on how the game teaches discipline, brotherhood, and purpose. Now, as a redshirt freshman tight end at Ball State, he’s turning that passion into a college career.
Anthony wears No. 85 — a number that wasn’t chosen, but one that ended up meaning a lot.
“That was just handed to me when I got here last year,” he said. “But my dad played at Indiana University and wore 85 his whole career, so it’s a pretty cool full-circle moment for my family.”
That family connection runs deep, and staying close to home was one of the biggest reasons Ball State felt like the right fit.
“Home being so close definitely helped,” Anthony said. “I’m only about 45 minutes from campus, so I can go home if I need to. My family comes to games, or they’ll visit if I’m missing them. That’s a blessing.”
Now in his second year, Anthony is focused on growth — on and off the field. With his redshirt season behind him, he has clear goals in mind.
“This year, I want to start. That’s been going well. I’m also aiming for 15 receptions, a couple of touchdowns, and I want my PF grade — that’s our blocking grade — to be above 80.”
He also has advice for younger athletes chasing their own dream.
“Don’t worry about who’s getting offers early,” he said. “Focus on your game and getting better every year. If you do that, the offers will come.”
Kameron Anthony’s story is about faith, family, and focus — and now, it’s time to get to work.
