Kam Anthony the football player for Ball State had his sports dream start like every other kid. After getting to interview him, I realized how similar we all are as sports fans and how much of a family it is. Most kids are introduced to sports by someone in their family and Kam is no different. “My dad is a huge reason why I love the game now, Anthony said , “he kind of instilled it in me at a young age.”
The whole entire interview Anthony was bringing up family and how much that means to him and how this football team is a family. Which is something I think we can all relate too because no matter what we all have that one person who even if they aren’t in our families that’s how we view them.
Sports I think are what is that universal connector you know even though when you get up in the higher levels it’s still a joy playing with people you grew up with. I know as the cousin of college football players also they would agree.
Also, another beauty is getting to rekindle former relationships you might’ve lost as you headed towards college. Kam said after finding out one of his high school teammates who originally started as a player for Perdue soon as he hit the transfer portal he made the phone call to him. And encouraged him to come back as one of their other high School teammates Jalen Alexander is already here. Which is something that I think is such a huge part of sports now is home much of a family it is and how much they encourage each other. But he said that you know in college sports it’s like a big universal family. That is one thing, like, we all want to see each other, like ball out. Because like I mean we grew up with them. Like, we all known each other since, like the fifth grade. So, like you want to see, like your closest hometown friends do great things and live out their dreams.” Said Anthony. Family is like football and football is family. Which is something we all need to realize as family is what means the most to us all.
