At first glance at the Unified flag football team, one player and his endless energy stand out. Harraj Ghotra, a senior, is the heart of every team he’s been a part of. Whether it’s serving as a manager for the HSE football team or celebrating on the field during Unified flag football, Harraj brings life everywhere he goes.
Ghotra’s energy is contagious, bringing smiles to anyone around him. His presence in the locker room lifts the team’s morale through dancing, singing, and laughing. That same energy carries onto the field, where his passion shines through—often capped off with one of his signature celebrations.
“Harraj has great energy,” said peer tutor and teammate Vince Putnam. “He’s always having a good time no matter what.”
During a recent home game against Franklin Central, Ghotra scored a touchdown and immediately sprinted from end zone to end zone in celebration. His celebrations ranged from shouting, “Touchdown Royals!” to silencing the haters.
“I was expecting Harraj to celebrate immediately after scoring—which he did,” said peer tutor and teammate Will Linn with a laugh.
Ghotra’s energy and love for the game can be felt throughout the entire team. His enthusiasm influences not only his teammates but also his coaches.
“Harraj is a joy to coach,” said Kourtney Lawhead, head coach of the Unified flag football team. “His energy never changes, no matter the game or practice.”
Beyond the football field, Ghotra is known throughout Hamilton Southeastern for his uplifting spirit. His enthusiasm is infectious, felt by both peers and teachers.
“Harraj truly is the heart of HSE,” Lawhead said. “I couldn’t imagine the school without him.”
