Boys Soccer ties Cathedral 1-1 at Hamilton Southeastern High School on August 19.
On September 6, 2025, under the lights at Reynolds Royals Stadium, the Hamilton Southeastern boys soccer team took the field. But it wasn’t just the 11 players competing that night — there was a 12th man, a roaring crowd of fans, classmates, and families who made every play matter more.
The Royals hold a 7-2-4 record as they fight for a playoff spot, and while talent and preparation drive their season, the players agree the energy from the sidelines pushes them even further.
“When the crowd gets going, it’s electric,” said senior forward Alfie Pratt. “It’s like having an extra teammate.” That support shows up in big moments — from spirit nights to last-minute goals — where the student section transforms into more than just spectators. For the Royals, it’s become a difference-maker.
“When we scored against Westfield, and the student section went wild, I’ll never forget that,” Pratt said. “It gave us momentum we needed.”Family plays a role too, providing rides, meals, and steady encouragement through the long season. “My parents haven’t missed a game,” Pratt said. “That means the world.”
As the Royals head deeper into their schedule, their focus is on playing their best soccer. But just as much, they’ll count on the energy from their 12th man.So if you haven’t been to a game yet — now’s the time. Show up, be loud, and help carry the Royals the rest of the way.
