Girls Volleyball celebrates their 2025 Mudsock win and trophy at HSE, on September 11th.
On Thursday, September 11th, 2025, HSE Girls Volleyball defeated Fishers High School in the 2025 Mudsock Match. After going 13-1 on the current season, HSE took away the victory in just 3 sets.
Within the first set it was clear. This game was going to be a tough match between the two powerhouse teams. The Fishers Tigers had gone 9-4 on the season, but they weren’t going down without a fight.
Notably, the HSE Royals hadn’t lost a single set against Fishers in the Mudsock match for 4 years.
“[We] never dropped a set to them all four years, so senior class is undefeated.” Maye McConnell, Senior, commented in response to the haste win on Thursday night.
“I think we could have took care of business better in the second set, but I think we really showed them whose boss around here.”

McConnell, who is the team libero, played in all 3 sets and had a serving average of 78.9%, with 13 serving points.
Other high achievers included seniors Raegan Miles and Bre Morgan, both with 4 blocks, additionally Morgan and Madi Miles, both seniors, had hit percentages of .556%. Other leaders included Miles, averaging 2.0 blocks per set, and junior Brooklyn Sigler, averaging 0.7 blocks per set.
Senior Merrit Sliwa, who played in all 3 sets and averaged 87.5% on serving, commented that she was proud and excited to win Mudsock for a 4th time, especially her senior year.
“I was super-duper excited just to come in here and have fun, and I think that we played up to our expectations.” Sliwa reported, “We definitely had some moments where we were down, but I thought we did a really good job running different stuff and getting around their blocks.”

The Royals ended the first set taking away a 25-18 win over the Tigers. In the second set, the Tigers got close to taking it, although the Royals took away the win 25-20. In the final set the Royals battled it out to a 25-15 win over the Fishers Tigers, cemented their 4 yearlong dominance over the Tigers in the Volleyball Mudsock.
