Logan Foust and Landon Osswald at the IHSAA regionals at Mt. Vernon on October 8, 2025.
For senior Landon Osswald, this season has been about more than just matches- it has been about mentorship. Playing doubles with sophomore Logan Foust, Landon has stepped up into a leadership role, guiding his younger teammate through matches. Together, through the season the duo has seen hard work turn into success proving that experience and determination can turn a new partnership into one of the strongest duos on the court.
Landon has used this opportunity to lead his teammate in matches. Landon has taught Logan to play off him and use different strategies to win in the doubles 1 matches. “Landon has been a great person to build off as person and as a teammate. He has helped me become more confident in myself.” Said Logan when asked about the effect Landon has had on him.
Throughout this season Logan and Landon have battled through many ups and downs. When asked about what they did to keep each other in check Landon said, “we will both miss shots, but the difference is how you react to and move on from it and staying confident for the next point”. Logan has said this is what helps them to stay one step ahead of the competition.
Going into the post season the duo must be calm and confident to win. “Landon is a very calm and collected person which has naturally helped me in become one too” said Logan when asked about what Landon has done to help with the pressure. Landon said, “I always try to make sure he is at the top of his game, mentally and physically, and make sure he gets after it at practice and takes care of his body”.
Over this season Landon and Logan have grown closer together and shared many wins. “This season has been super enjoyable and just seeing how far me and Logan have come as a duo from the first match of the season to now is awesome to see” said Landon. This duo that just started playing together this season has shown great dedication in the doubles 1 role and is sure to see more success entering the post-season.
