The HSE Girls Volleyball team has been strolling through the post season, and it doesn’t look like they are stopping any time soon. One of the key reasons for this spurt of dominance is none other than Senior and University of Illinois commit Madi Miles, a 6’1 outside hitter who has received numerous accolades and is considered a highly ranked, talented player. Miles recently has been named to the MaxPreps Midseason National Player of the Year Watchlist.
MaxPreps is a comprehensive platform for high school sports, providing a central hub for teams to manage their programs and for fans to follow their favorite teams/players. This hub also tracks statistics, which is one of the defining reasons why Madi was named to the list. Recording 398 kills, 43 blocks, and 41 aces through the midseason, Madi is paving her way through competition and leading her team to the postseason. Madi is currently ranked 361st in the Nation, 40th in the state of Indiana, 15th in class 4A, and 2nd in Hoosier Crossroads. Miles also helped the Royals win back to back IHSAA state championships in 2022 and 2023. Through the course of her 4 year high school career, Madi Miles has been a spark for the Royals and by Junior year she was already a central part of the Varsity squad. During the 2025 season, she has constantly led the team in kills and key plays.
For example: in one match she had 24 kills in a 3-1 win over the Roncalli high school Knights. In another match against Fishers (their “Mudsock” rivalry), Madi had 16 kills, including a crucial net-tip and kill that helped seal the set point. But Miles’ strengths are not just physical, she brings positive energy and support to her team every night.
With her commitment to Illinois, the expectation is that she’ll continue to develop at a high level and perhaps be a standout at the collegiate level. For HSE, her senior year is pivotal, leadership, consistency, and big plays in tight matches are key, which have all been shown throughout her season thus far.
For fans, keep an eye on her in major matches, especially conference/playoff games where she’s already shown she can deliver under pressure.
