Jack Trant, a player on this year’s unified flag football team at Hamilton Southeastern High School looks back at all of the memories and the legacy he now leaves here at HSE after this school year as not only an athlete but as a person.
The unified flag football team at HSE goes far beyond the playing field. Trant, this year, had the honor of winning Southeastern Sports Network athlete of the week award after a stellar 5 touchdown performance. Trant represented his unified team in the best way possible.
Although the team this season only won 4 games, many memorable moments came up throughout. One of the best memories being coming back to defeat Westfield at the Colts football practice Complex in Westfield
“This season meant everything to me and my teammates.” Trant said. Every down and snap, whether Trant was in the game or not, he was always cheering on and supporting his teammates in any way he could.
Unified sports bring together students of all abilities, fostering growth, friendship, and inclusion. Many people impacted this, especially Trant. He thrived in this program and his teammates and mentors enjoyed having him as a part of such a spirited team.
“Thank you Unified for letting me play with my friends and coaches.” Trant said.
Trant also wants to recognize all of his teammates that he’s ever played with but especially his senior teammates. Trant “couldn’t be any prouder of them” he highlights.
After the loss in the second round of sectionals, Trant became emotional, remembering all of the highs and lows that he’s been through on this team. “I will miss the friendships and connections that I’ve made and all of the friends that became like family” Trant touches on.
He now leaves a legacy on the Unified flag football team and in general at Hamilton Southeastern, wanting to be remembered as “The quarterback on senior night,” who always lead the team with a positive attitude and enthusiasm!
