Cale Beattie earned the team’s first six points for the Royals and a three-point take down. Beattie’s fierce approach to his opponent set the tone for his teammates. Following, Nick Anderson, stepped up with two three-point take downs. Sustaining the same competitive spirit, Aidan Smalley with another three-point take down and the team’s first escape points. Now, the Royals with 15 points on the Greyhounds.
Approaching the halfway point of the match, Parker Culp had accumulated five three-point take downs. Continuously raising the bar for the competition to follow. Teammates, Matthew Billet and Chris Casler did not disappoint in adding to their team’s success.
The Royals stood at thirty-three points after Aiden Blackmore and Landon Hicks both shut their competition down with a three-point take down by both.
As the competition grew intense, Cohen Davis suffered an injury to his eye. Cutting his match short, he still delivered the same power his teammates demonstrated before him. Four Royals left to secure the win and make up for lost time due to Davis’s shortened match. Grady Wafford, the first to follow, restored the roar with another three-point take down and a pin for the royals.
The last three wrestlers sealed the deal with three escapes from Reid Snider, two from Evan Lawhead, and the last one of the night from A.W. VanKirk. An electric finish to the night from three powerhouse wrestlers. The Royals left empowered with a 42-19 win over the Carmel Greyhounds.
