On Saturday, February 22, the Hamilton Southeastern Boys Swim and Dive team will compete in the IHSAA Sectionals at Hamilton Southeastern High School.
Coming off an exciting and successful regular season, the Boys Swim and Dive team are ready to tackle sectionals. All season, the swimmers have prepped for when the time starts at the sectional meet. With the last 2 weeks off from meets, the team has been able to practice their speed, form, and adjustments ahead of the sectional meet.
“To prepare for sectionals we’ve been working hard in practice all year,” senior Jacob Frye said, “we’ve been working on our race strategies, as well as keeping our goals in mind to stay mentally focused”.
As they approach the end of their season, the individual and team goals of qualifying for semi-state and state are a primary focus. However, the Boys Swim and Dive team are focusing on putting their best performance for sectionals. Facing off against nearby foes Fishers, Hamilton Heights, and nine other teams, it is understood and an expectation around the team that they remain focused and confident.
“We’ve done the preparation, I am confident in my abilities and my teammates,” senior Collin Huston said, “and we are ready to compete”.
As the season has aged, the bond and trust between them has grown and continues to do so. All season, the Boys Swim and Dive team have practiced with everything they got, pushing each other to be their best. These practices have created a tight-knit relationship among the team, through all the hard work.
“I think all the guys on the team are going to have amazing swims,” senior Jacob Frye states, “and I think it’ll really show how much hard work we’ve all put in”.
After all the work the Hamilton Southeastern Boys Swim and Dive team has put in, they are ready for the moment of sectionals. The swimmers and divers are ready to put their best foot forward as they compete in sectionals this Saturday in their home pool.
