The Hamilton Southeastern cheerleading squad will head to Mt. Vernon on September 28th to compete in the HHC Cheer Competition.
Coming off two great performances at recent competitions, the team has been adaptive to change by doing what it takes to win. After seeing what other schools bring to the table, both the coaches and team know what they need to add to the routine to increase the difficulty, so they can win. This week, despite injuries to the roster, a whole new routine is being showcased at the competition on Saturday, a routine with high expectations and one that has tightened the culture and bond amongst the team.
“We are going into the week with a completely new routine and we can’t wait to see how it scores,” junior Lexi Perozzi said. “We believe this routine is what it takes to win state.”
Facing off against teams like Fishers, Pendleton Heights, Delta, and Mt. Vernon, taking home first place is no easy task, but everyone on the team is confident heading into the HHC competition and ready to put their best foot forward. Preparation for this week’s competition on Saturday has included making sure everyone is on the same page and focused on hitting this new routine, so they can continue their success. This weekend is another chance for the Royals to get better, and collect another piece of hardware during the competition season.
“This season has been pretty successful thus far, despite some minor bumps in the road,” senior Olivia Moorman said. “I really think that this week will require lots of focus from the group as a whole to have a successful competition on Saturday!”
