On Wednesday, April 30, the boys volleyball team hosted a Dine and Donate fundraiser at Culvers to raise money for their program — and the outcome was incredible. The team raised a significant amount for their needs, including more than $40 in tips in just four hours.
The event not only helped financially but also brought the team closer together. From delivering food and finding table numbers to sweeping and vacuuming the floors, the players worked side by side all night. One of the restaurant staff members was so grateful for their help, she even donated an extra $5 tip to support the team — a moment that left everyone thankful.
“The reason we picked Culver’s was because we have a tradition of going there after practices, open gyms and even games,” junior Evan LeCuyer said. “For almost three to four years — since I’ve been here — it’s stuck with the younger guys. We keep going after practice and games. It helps us build a better bond, so we can be a stronger team on the court.”
That sense of connection wasn’t limited to varsity players either — the event united athletes across all levels of the program.
“The fundraiser money is going toward new equipment,” sophomore CJ Milentis explained. “This year, we were fortunate to get our very own custom club shorts and fundraisers like this help make that happen now and in the future.”
This Dine and Donate event was a major success — not just for the money raised, but for the lasting impact on the team’s culture and future. It is a tradition that will likely live on for years to come.
