Olivia Moorman is a senior at HSE who has cheered for the Royals basketball team for 4 years. Alongside this, Moorman has dedicated her time to the varsity football and varsity competition teams. Her love for the sport goes far beyond the sidelines, as she is deeply committed to inspiring her teammates, pushing herself to succeed in every routine, and representing her school with pride and passion both on and off the field.
Moorman tried out for the cheer team simply because a friend had asked her. Little did she know, she had a natural ability. Over time, Moorman developed a strong passion for cheer that has made her consider continuing in college.
Years down the line, she continues to cheer for HSE and support the Royals through her devotion to the sport. Moorman says she wouldn’t be where she is today if it weren’t for her coach, Ally Hudson.
“She always motivates me to be my best at cheer and strive for greatness,” said Moorman.
Her deep love and commitment to the sport are clear, from the excitement of leading crowds to the strong bonds formed with teammates. Cheerleading has been a central part of both her high school experience and identity at HSE, and Moorman cannot believe her time on the sidelines will soon come to a close.
When asked what advice she would provide to underclassmen, she recommends living in the moment.
“Don’t take any moment for granted! Time flies by and you can make so many memories throughout your time at HSE,” says Moorman. “Don’t be scared to fail, it’s always better than not trying.”
